{"id":91,"date":"2021-04-28T20:15:01","date_gmt":"2021-04-28T20:15:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sageadvice.health\/?p=91"},"modified":"2021-04-28T20:15:01","modified_gmt":"2021-04-28T20:15:01","slug":"easy-banana-pancakes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sageadvice.health\/index.php\/2021\/04\/28\/easy-banana-pancakes\/","title":{"rendered":"Easy Banana Pancakes"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color\">These bite-sized pancakes are a huge winner in my household, and the recipe is so easy to whip up that it only takes a few minutes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color\">My favourite way to enjoy these pancakes is topped with lots of berries, some natural yoghurt and a drizzle of honey. Meanwhile my children usually just eat them fresh from the pan, one by one, as I\u2019m cooking them. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color\">These pancakes also make a great lunchbox or afternoon snack as they are tasty when cold too. I often make peanut butter and jam mini pancake &#8220;sandwiches&#8221; for the kids (if there happen to be any leftovers).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color\">The basic pancake recipe is super simple, and you can use my upgrade tips below for added flavour and nutrition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Ingredients<\/span><\/strong> (serves 4)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color\">1 ripe banana<br>1 egg<br>1 cup milk of choice<br>1 cup self-raising flour<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color\">Mash the banana into a mixing bowl.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color\"> Add in the egg and whisk together until combined. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color\">Add the milk and flour to the mixing bowl and continue stirring with the whisk until you reach a smooth consistency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color\">Add tablespoon sized dollops of the batter to a pan and cook on a low heat until slighty golden on each side.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color Upgrades<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"has-black-color has-text-color\"><li>Use <strong>wholemeal<\/strong> self-raising flour for added fibre and nutrition<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"has-black-color has-text-color\"><li>Add 1 teaspoon of <strong>vanilla extract<\/strong> and\/or 1\/2 teaspoon <strong>cinnamon<\/strong> for added flavour<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"has-black-color has-text-color\"><li>Add 1 Tablespoon <strong>chia seeds<\/strong> to the batter for added omega-3, fibre, protein and nutrients<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"has-black-color has-text-color\"><li>Substitute half of the flour with 1\/2 cup<strong> rolled oats<\/strong> for added fibre and nutrients<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"has-black-color has-text-color\"><li>Top with a drizzle of <strong>nut butter<\/strong> and\/or a sprinkle of <strong>hemp seeds<\/strong> for extra protein (alternatively you could add hemp powder to the batter)<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"has-black-color has-text-color\"><li>Stir blueberries (fresh or frozen) into the batter before cooking for extra flavour and added antioxidants<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure
